Are you a young performer with a wild imagination and a knack for comedy? We are looking for a high-energy cast of 10 performers (ages 18 and under) to bring this hilarious, woolly adventure to life!
Mrs. Llama the Very Kiwi Farmer is a fast-paced, “pantomime-meets-fairytale” mashup. We need quick thinkers who aren’t afraid to get silly, play with the audience, and dive into the chaos of the farm.
Audition details and preparation
You must book an audition time by completing the online audition form. The Production Manager (Jan) will then be in touch to confirm your booking, give you an audition time, and send you script extracts so you can prepare for your audition.
Auditions will be held in small groups to see how you interact with your fellow cast members. We want to see your personality and your ability to adapt!
- Script Excerpts: These will be sent to you via email once you book your slot. Please look these over in advance—you don’t need to have them memorized, but you should be familiar with the vibe!
- Cold Reads: We will provide short, fun scenes on the day to see how you handle new material on the fly.
- Improv Scenarios: Be prepared to think on your feet! We’ll be looking for actors who can “yes, and” their way through some farmyard madness.
Note: Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and bring a water bottle. We are looking for energy and playfulness over “perfect” acting!

Character Descriptions
As always, eventual casting is likely to be determined in the context of the wider group of cast members.
| Character | Description |
| Mrs. Llama (to be played by a male performer) | Our “Pantomime Dame” lead. Bold, brassy, and quintessentially Kiwi. Must have great comic timing and a loud voice! |
| Ensemble | The backbone of the show! These actors will play multiple “major-minor” roles as various fairytale characters. Requires strong improvisation skills. |
